PHO5pr
Type: | Metabolite-inducible promoter |
Other names: | / |
Description: | PHO5pr is a member of the PHO regulon, which has been researched intensively as a model for studying the relationship between chromatin structure and gene expression dynamics1. PHO5pr is upregulated in response to a lack of inorganic phosphate2, which is required for energy and nucleotide metabolism. The PHO5 promoter becomes fully active after phosphate, including any stored in the vacuole, is used up3. |
Organism of origin: | budding yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) |

Inducing condition: | Lack of inorganic phosphate |
Repressible condition: | Inorganic phosphate |
